This coastal town has brilliant sea and islands as famous as its history and naturel beauty. The endless blue waters embracing Turgutreis is adorned with 14 islands seems like green spots placed by the nature. Every kind of fish can be found in the restaurants. The town is named after the famous Turkish admiral Turgut Reis who was born there in 1485. Known in the West as Dragut, Turgut Reis was famous for his expeditions on the coasts of Spain, France, Italy and North Africa, and his participation in the Ottoman siege of Malta.
